Cloud continuity backs up your Windows servers and Windows desktops to our Canadian cloud. There is no hardware in your office. If a server fails, we start a copy of it in the cloud and your team works from that copy until the server is repaired. Recovery takes hours.
Typically 4–24 hours depending on the size of the server and your internet speed. Cloud virtualization can be faster than a full download when a site is lost entirely.
How it works
From backup to back at work.
We install a small Bitrieve agent on each Windows server and desktop
It backs up the whole machine: Windows, your programs, your settings and your data. Backups run as often as every hour.
The backup goes to our Canadian cloud
It is encrypted before it leaves your computer and stays encrypted in the cloud. Nothing is stored outside Canada.
Every night we test it
We start the latest backup in the cloud, take a screenshot of the Windows lock screen, and email it to you. That is your proof it works.
If your server fails, we start it in the cloud
Your server runs in our data centre instead of your office. Your staff connect to it over the internet and keep working while the real server is repaired or replaced.
When the server is fixed, we bring it back
We copy the server back to your office, by download or, for large servers, on a drive we ship to you.

What it doesn't do
- No backup server on-site, so there is no local, instant virtualization
- Recovery speed is limited by your internet connection
- Large servers may take a day or more to bring back on-site

Starting or downloading a server from the cloud depends on your internet speed. A typical server takes a few hours. If you need to be back in minutes, choose the on-site backup server instead. Cloud continuity is the right choice when you have no room for hardware, or when your computers are laptops that move around.
